Loa has perhaps the purest voice. Indeed, she was a jazz singer in Chicago long before I met her. She has a wonderful habit of recording whatever song comes into her head upon whatever recording device she happens to find. It’s always pleasant to go through old digital photos and find a number of these audio treasures scattered through otherwise banal photos of dogs and such.
The video to the right, recorded I presume, in a basement of Vesterbro, Copenhagen, has brilliant acoustics. Most of her songs contain personal lyrics (though often in Icelandic or one of a half dozen other languages of which she is fluent). This sample, on the other hand, is not of a traditional language. I don’t suppose she’ll mind.
